Mr Ramesh replaced my right knee in 2010 with great success and now thirteen years later it is still working well. Mr Ramesh recently (29.09.2023) replaced my left knee and again I am totally impressed at the result. Just four weeks post op, and I am pleased to say that I have experienced discomfort rather than pain following the operation, my wound has closed and is healing well and despite some residual swelling and tightness, I am able to perform the physiotherapy without too much discomfort (bags of frozen peas prior to the exercise !) and the range of movements are improving with time. Mr Ramesh explained the procedures, anticipated outcomes, potential threats and the pathway to recovery before the operation which helped to build up a rapport and trust with him. Nothing was too much trouble and he readily answered my questions and clearly explained technical processes. I have been offered the facility of backup at any time, and I am not to hesitate contacting his Secretary and he will see me if required. There were no 'airs or graces' or aloofness and Mr Ramesh related to me in a very friendly and humane way which I found very reassuring and confidence building. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Ramesh, perhaps especially for those patients fearing or worried about undergoing the total knee replacement procedure as his easy going yet professional approach would likely put their minds and concerns to rest and allay their misconceived fears.

I can't express my gratitude enough to Mr Ramesh, I am 68 years of age and he is the best NHS professional I have ever come across. Since I first visited Mr Ramesh he has put me at ease, explained everything to me, been caring and honest with me. I was a bag of nerves and anxious and from the minute I met Mr Ramesh I trusted him and put all of my faith into him. He has now operated on both of my knees and has done an amazing job on both. He is such a value to the NHS and more NHS professionals should take a leaf out of his book and be like him. I can't praise Mr Ramesh enough, from start to finish the care and attention I have received has been A*. Mr Ramesh thank you so much for everything you have done for me and for the treatment I have received, I hope your career continues so that so many more patients can receive the same care and treatment I have received. You are a great asset to the NHS and if there is ever an award I can put you forward for for your care and service I will do so. You deserve recognition for all your amazing hard work. From myself and all my family thank you so much.

I wish to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude and thanks to Mr Ramesh and his orthopaedic team at Abergele hospital. On the 12 November 2021, at the age of 64, I had a total knee replacement to my left knee, having previously had the same operation on my right knee about three years ago, also by Mr Ramesh. I cannot praise Mr Ramesh and his team highly enough. The care I received was indeed, ‘Great’. As I write this, it has been nearly three weeks since the procedure and my progress has been nothing short of remarkable. My outlook has gone from daily despair at the constant pain and, what looked like, an enforced and debilitating retirement, to that of a new lease of life and a pain free future filled with optimism.

I felt listened to. I was very relieved not to have to wait hours for my surgery as I have dome in other departments. However, a patient came into Abergele Hospital at 7 am to the ward I was on. She had to witness patients being given drinks, breakfast and lunch. She was still waiting at 1 pm.Although she may not have been a patient of Mr Ramesh, this situation needs to be reassessed as a matter of urgency. Why should patients have to wait many hours for their surgery. With previous procedures with other departments, I became dehydrated prior to surgery which impeded my recovery. I found the staff in Abergele hospital remarkable. They were patient and attentive. Unfortunately, the food over the weekend I was in was of very poor quality. I feel, on the whole, the Orthopaedic Department at Abergele Hospital is well organised and run. The theatre lists should be looked at as a matter of urgency. That was my prime concern as soon as being given my date for surgery. Always going alphabetically is not the answer. I accept that some cases need to go to theatre as a priority but ther must be a better way of organising this. I am happy to discuss this matter further if it is helpful.
